
Prof Miranda Brawn is a multi award-winning diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) leader, lawyer and British businesswoman with over 100+ awards to date including honorary doctorates. Today, her career portfolio of roles include being a multi-sector non executive director, chair, trustee, board advisor on a range of influential global boards.
She has advised the UK’s richest family when she was on the board of their electrical vehicle mature start-up company. She sits on the boards of the UK’s largest NHS healthcare organisation, financial services and AI technology companies. She is also an investor, venture capitalist, AI and technology start-up advisor.
As a social entrepreneur and philanthropist, she has supported over 20 charities as a board advisor, trustee and ambassador including launching her own non-profit Foundation called The Miranda Brawn Diversity Leadership Foundation’ (TMBDLF).
TMBDLF is the UK’s first diversity leadership organisation founded on 4th January 2016 that launched the first diversity lectures and first of its kind “innovative” and tailored diversity scholarships aimed at school children and university students. The aim is to improve the educational experience of students from disadvantaged and diverse backgrounds across all strands including race, socioeconomic, disability, faith and so on.
TMBDLF works with the UK’s top employers, professionals and academics to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds have access to mentoring, funding, work experience, networks, skills training, confidence building and also potentially employment opportunities during their time at school, college and university.
She is also an educator where she is the first Professor (Hon) in Business and Law at the University of Roehampton. She is the podcast host for ‘The D.A.R.E. Podcast’ (a successful mindset podcast), an international public speaker including two TEDx talks in Italy and a success mindset coach known as ‘The 60 Second Coach’ on instagram.
As an expert media contributor, she has featured across numerous media platforms both online and in print including Bloomberg TV, Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast, Sky News, CNBC, Forbes, Financial Times, The Times and a range of magazine cover interviews.
Her career background includes being a former investment banker, hedge fund derivatives sales trader and senior international financial services lawyer where she started her career as one of the first women on London’s trading floor including working for JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs. She is often one of the first women and youngest person in global boardrooms across all sectors where she had also launched the UK’s first Black Women on Boards initiative in 2021 as part of TMBDLF.
She was also Senior Visiting Fellow residing at Oxford University researching, lecturing and group mentoring on ‘The Brawn Review: Boardroom sustainability, inclusion and governance’. This independent report launches in October 2025 at the UK House of Lords as part of TMBDLF’s 10th Annual Lecture Anniversary celebrations.
